Founder & Owner...

Laurie Klein has been one of the premier airbrush artists
for the aviation industry for the last 10 years. Work for
The Blue Angels, the Thunderbirds, and NASA are among
her long list of credits. She has also done work for the
movie and music industries, the President of the United
States, and one of her flight helmets is even featured in
the Smithsonian for its use on SpaceShipOne (winner of
the X Prize for the first privately funded flight into space).
She has come a long way from her roots in fine art.

Laurie was a born artist: she was oil painting at the age
of 8, airbrushing by the age of 17, and employed as a
professional artist by the age of 18. As a fine art major in
college, she was continually told that airbrushing is not
“real art,” so she never revealed her passion for it to her
professors. When she began selling airbrushed art on
canvas, sometimes for thousands of dollars, she
realized that it was certainly a worthwhile endeavor.

A near fatal car accident ended her college career in fine art, and when she returned to
school her focus was on graphic art and design. During that time she made a living as
a freelance illustrator, and headed up the Airbrush department for a well-known art store
in San Diego where she did seminars on airbrushing as well.

After college Laurie eventually found her home as an airbrush artist at a leading aviation
industry manufacturer. While working there she did work for Amblin Entertainment,
Twentieth Century Fox, Belasarius Productions, Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise, United
Airlines, Boeing, Lockheed, Bell Helicopters, and many more.

Front Range Studio is proud to have Laurie as its founder. She can be contacted at
